Why we built a transparent options profit calculator

Many options tools begin with a ticker lookup and hide the calculation behind a live data subscription. This project begins with the model. Users can enter an underlying price, strikes, premiums, quantities, expirations, volatility, rates, dividends, and commissions without creating an account.

The purpose is to make strategy arithmetic easier to inspect. A result stays connected to its assumptions, and every preset can become a custom position. The site does not connect to a brokerage, place orders, or present example values as market quotes.

What the option strategy calculators include

The strategy library covers single calls and puts, income positions, vertical spreads, calendars, diagonals, butterflies, condors, straddles, strangles, stock-and-option combinations, and custom multi-leg layouts. Each page shares a consistent editor, per-leg volatility inputs, analysis-date P&L table, price-and-time heatmap, maximum profit and loss summary, break-even calculation, probability estimate, and net Greeks.

Separate tools calculate a theoretical Black-Scholes value, solve implied volatility, explain individual Greeks, rank templates for a target scenario, and compare two strategies side by side.

How calculations are reviewed and limited

The pricing and payoff functions are centralized so all strategy pages use the same formulas. We verify representative calls, puts, verticals, and multi-leg positions against hand calculations and test interactive behavior in desktop and mobile browsers.

No mathematical model captures every market condition. Results exclude live bid-ask spreads, early exercise decisions, discrete dividend schedules, assignment, settlement differences, liquidity, taxes, margin changes, and personal suitability. The methodology page documents the formulas and the risk boundary.

Privacy and browser-local options modeling

Calculator inputs are processed in the browser. Scenario saving uses local browser storage, and exports are generated on the device. The application does not require an account and does not intentionally send option legs or modeled trade details to an application database.

Normal web hosting can still process request logs and technical metadata. The privacy page describes that boundary and explains how to remove locally saved scenarios.
